As a people-centric creative director on the GoPro Awards team from 2018 to 2020, I mentored editors, gave creative feedback, and sourced community content showcasing high-capture quality, creativity, and shareability.
Once the content or creator was identified, our team coordinated plans across different departments, assigned an editor to produce the video, and occasionally worked directly with the creator to coach them through getting specific shots to flesh out the piece. Before each edit started, there would be a creative briefing between the creative director, producers, and editor about what to consider or how to approach the content or story.
These selected works represent a small portion of the types of videos we produced in the GoPro Awards program. Special notes or credits are given below the videos. Enjoy!

"A few French students decided to take their homework to the next level. To start they built a simple structure, made of wood over the course of three days. A rope went from one side of the upper bar to the other provide enough length to attach with a harness. Then they dug a meter deep hole in the ground and put a PVC tube with rolling in it. A smaller structure was placed for the rope to wrap around which was then fixed on the mast. Then the two pulleys are placed to lead the rope and control the flow. They call it the "Centrifugal""

Rocket Scientists’ Inferno - GoPro’s Inside View

"Rocket scientists incorporate a number of different testing techniques before committing a rocket to flight. One of those tests is called a "static test." In this setup a rocket engine is fired while being anchored to a test bench. Fitted with instrumentation, the scientist can safely measure thrust, pressure, cooling, and other rocket data.
